Openings
Here we are literally in the midst of the Solar Eclipse and all that that implies. Much is written on the opportunity this event opens in our collective and personal lives. I do not want to dwell on all the implications here. Suffice it to say that I am watching what is transpiring in America and the world without becoming embroiled in the controversies, as much as I am able.
I think that it is important to be informed on all sides of the ensuing drama, but not to be ensnared by the emotions of blame and retaliation. Then we learn to view it all objectively and remain centered within it. There are positive and negative aspects to everything. Our job is to take it all in and neutralize the effects, creating a harmony within ourselves that will emanate into our immediate surroundings and on into the world.
How one is able to do this is the central teaching of all the great traditions. We have the benefit of learning from the wisdom imparted to us. What gifts are embedded in the practices passed down to us! I, for one, am in gratitude for all that I have gleaned in my life of study of the spirituality inherent in this existence. Form is just that, form. What is the essence in the heart of form? This is what drives my life.
So, I am embracing this moment of huge transformation. Many years ago, the head of the film department at UCLA, Lou Stuman, said of The MicroCosmic Cartoon Show, “It is genius but the world isn’t ready for it yet.” Many rewrites later, the world is ready. Here it comes.
We have won two more awards for the screenplay,The Los Angeles Film and Script Festival and ?????. This one has been hard to sit on without divulging the name of the festival. They will make their formal announcement of the final winners on September 5th! I do know that The MicroCosmic Cartoon Show is one of 35 scripts being considered for the top prize! Only a couple of more weeks to hang tight. I will be traveling to this festival in October, so you will get a report down the line.
It is important to show up to meet all the representatives from the agents, distributors, and production houses who will be there to engage with the winners.
My daughter, Suryananda, who is a co-author, will be coming, also. It is supposed to be one of the best 25 film festivals in the world. I am a bit nervous…and excited too!
So, stay tuned to get the further developments of this amazing production.
