Jumping Into the Voyage

On Monday I will begin the next phase of my work with Voyage Media to bring The MicroCosmic Cartoon Show production to industry packaging readiness standards. This entails having the screenplay in ship-shape form and all my pitch packet materials beautifully presented. There is so much that I have completed already, what with budgets, fantastic tax incentives for the investors, wonderful key art, and the beginnings of a team.
From here, I will be focusing on getting the script into lockdown and attaching my director and talent. There is always the marketing, promoting, and funding aspects of producing a movie and one of this scope is especially challenging. “Perseverance furthers” as the I Ching informs and, if I have learned one thing on this decades-long endeavor, is just that. I gather the fruits of many of those who have paved the way. My basket of bounty is overflowing but there is always room for more.
One of my resources that I have found very helpful is Jason Brubaker’s, Filmaking Stuff (www.filmmakingstuff.com). Although is expertise is on distribution, he offers great insights on many topics of production.
Of course, there is Stacey Park’s, Film Specific (www.filmspecific.com) . This site is invaluable for any filmmaker at whatever level of experience. Her wealth of knowledge, ability to lay it out for us, and her sheer volume of helpful material is amazing, worth every penny of the membership. The forums are great for connecting with others who are facing the same challenges that we face.
Now, I must get back to script revisioning.
